ABOUT MEGABOTS

"The next billion dollar sports league could be giant robots that fight to the death"

Giant. Fighting. Robots.

MegaBots, Inc., uses cutting-edge robotics technology to create the giant piloted fighting robots of science fiction, videogames and movies. These robots fight in epic-scale arena combat the likes of which the world has never seen before.

MegaBots are 15-foot-tall, internally piloted humanoid robots that fire cannonball-sized paintballs at each other at speeds of over 120 miles per hour. As the robots battle, armor panels shear off and litter the field, smoke and sparks pour out of the chassis, massive robotic limbs tear off, and robots crumple to the ground until only one is left standing.

The giant robots from science fiction are coming.

Stadium-Sized Battles

Legends wanted. The world is watching. MegaBots is not about building a single robot or fighting a single duel against Japan. MegaBots is about empowering robot pilots and teams from around the world to field their own giant, human-piloted robot, and then hosting epic live-action sporting events where teams compete for glory, the honor of their fans, and the chance to become the world’s ultimate mech champion.

MegaBots Origins

MegaBots was born in 2014 from creative engineers who grew up playing video games, watching movies, and reading comic books featuring giant fighting robots. They're now leveraging deep engineering expertise in the rapidly advancing field of hydraulic robotics in order to empower an entire generation of creators to actually build the robots of science fiction for the first time. The vision of MegaBots is to entertain a growing global audience of science-fiction fans and eSport enthusiasts by turning their dreams about giant robot combat into epic reality.

MegaBots' founders are Gui Cavalcanti and Matt Oehrlein. The company is headquartered in Hayward, CA.

THE USA VS JAPAN GIANT ROBOT DUEL

"Finally, after millennia of bullshit agriculture and metallurgy and revolutions industrial, political, cultural, whatever, shit’s finally getting good."

We Challenged Japan to a Duel.

In the summer of 2015, MegaBots, inc. completed construction of the USA's first giant piloted mech. The Mk. II MegaBot is a 15-foot tall, 12,000lb robot capable of hurling 3lb projectiles at speeds of over 130 MPH.

Upon completion of the Mk. II, MegaBots challenged the only other known giant piloted robot in the world to a duel. A 9,000lb robot known as KURATAS created by a group in Japan known as Suidobashi Heavy Industries.

They Accepted.

Suidobashi Heavy Industries agreed to MegaBots' challenge under the conditions that the fight includes melee combat.

"Just building something huge and sticking guns on it. It's Super American ... If we're going to win this, I want to punch them to scrap and knock them down to do it."

- Kogoro Kurata

MegaBots didn't back down.

We Crowdfunded the First Ever Giant Mech Battle.

MegaBots took to Kickstarter to crowdfund the upgrades to the American robot. Raising over $500,000, the campaign will allow the MegaBot Mk. II to not only be able to swing punches, but to roll with them too.

Get ready to witness the most incredible sports entertainment that the world has ever seen: Nation-on-nation robot combat. Multi-ton behemoths will swing punches, tearing steel armor panels off each other until one mech is left standing, while the opponent is left a heap of scrap metal.

Welcome to the future of sports.

In October 2017, History Was Made.

In an epic battle for the ages, the world came together and watched The Giant Robot Duel. Millions watched as MegaBots' Eagle Prime took on Suidobashi's KURATAS in the world's first streamed event of it's kind.

...but this battle was just the beginning...
